Explore 3 different expressions of Rum while being led by a spirits professional. This tasting includes the following samples: RON COLÓN SALVADOREÑO (Dark Rum) Appearance / Color Warm Amber Nose / Aroma / Smell On the nose you will find notes of exotic fruits from banana to pineapple over a rich note of marzipan, walnut bread, and wood spices. Flavor / Taste / Palate The flavor profile is full-bodied and rich, building on the aromas with more tropical fruits, a nice chocolatey note, roasted almonds, and vanilla. Finish The finish is long and smooth for such a high ABV. TEN TO ONE Appearance / Color Honey Amber with golden yellow hues. Nose / Aroma / Smell Driven by cooked fruit character, and baking spices. Esters are quite present, banana peel, and baked yellow apple. Nut loaf, oatmeal cookie, roasted nuts, and toffee. Flavor / Taste / Palate Much more savory in character versus driven by esters. Tobacco, cedar, mulch, and vanilla. Baked apples and banana bread. Worn leather flavors. Tangy and nutty. Finish Finishes dry and clean. BLACK TOT Appearance / Color Ruddy Amber Nose / Aroma / Smell The aroma is big and round and punchy with molasses and banana over a touch of espresso, dark chocolate, and anise. Flavor / Taste / Palate The palate has a nice mouth-feel and flavors of old wood, tropical fruits from banana to mango and pineapple, and secondary hits of more coffee and cocoa. Finish The finish is long, lightly sweet, and a tad drying.
