Epicurean Review

Bright gold in the glass and intensely aromatic on the nose. This wine shows beautiful aromas of bruised apples, preserved lemons, river rock, moss, beeswax, honey, dried apricots. This wine is showing beautifully now and will continue to improve with age.


About Producer

Von Winning was founded in 1849 in Pfalz, Germany, and is dedicated to making exuberant and expressive riesling from the top vineyard sites. Leopold Von Winning was one of the VDP's founding members and was dedicated to upholding the high standards set by the organization. All the wines produced by Von Winning are made through sustainable grape growing methods and winemaking practices to ensure a highly aromatic product.


About The Region

Pfalz is the second largest wine regions in Germany follwing Rheinhessen and produces a third of all German wine sold. It is located between the Haardt Mountains abd the Rhine River in Southwest Germany. Pfalz is one of the warmest wine regions and Germany. Similar to Alsace, the village of Diedsheimer has been conquered several times by both the French and Germen between 1396 and 1930.
